Youth Innovation Center Peja

Youth Innovation Center Peja is a public youth center which provides a space for non-formal education initiatives for young people from different communities. Youth Center aim is strengthening the role of youth in society, promoting active citizenship and volunteerism.

The center serves more than 300 youngsters throughout the year, involved in many activities. Our programs are divided into three main categories: education, arts and environment from which are organized annual activities that have focus on environmental protection, and improvement of public spaces through art with the annual organization of Mural Art Peja, and education through vocational training.

In recent years, the Youth Center has increased the capacity to serve even more youngsters through formal groups or clubs such as the book club, film club, debate club or science club with activities that promote positive youth development and also different educational courses such as: foreign language courses, ballet courses, acting, photographic exhibitions.

In 2018, with the support of the United Nations Democratic Fund, the Youth Center is developing into a social enterprise that will expand its field of action in education with multimedia training programs. The Youth Center has become a center of innovation and ideas, a coworking space where young people come to work on their project, network and share their experiences. A social enterprise focusing on multimedia, programming, graphic design, and technical assistance for young entrepreneurs helping them to develop their business ideas in sustainable business models.

The Youth Innovation Center manages a space of 400m2 including a conference room, a concert hall, a basketball court, training offices etc. Its located in the center of the city of Peja, and so close to the main institutions of the city, and also surrounded by the primary and secondary schools of Peja, which make Youth Center the main reference point for of the youth in the city.
